We had the pleasure to attend the QMotion “advanced shading systems” Training at the Vantage Emea offices in Belgium. Now Qmotion is part of the Legrand group as well as Vantage.
I found it quite interesting and some points of the products/system really amazed me:
- Bidirectional communication Vantage-Qmotion, everytime the status and level of the automated roller shades are known by Vantage.
- Automated roller shades are extremely silent.
- They can be controlled by their own remotes, via App, via home automation systems (Vantage, Savant, Control4,…), and with a manual override feature (easily can be opened or closed manually) where the status is always refreshed at the home automation system side.
- Real wireless installation. 4 to 8 D cell alkaline batteries are required per blind depending on size, providing an average of 3 years period of use. The balancing springs system doesn´t need a conventional electrical pre-installation, “just no wires”, this was really awesome. The Vantage system includes the functionality to send events when the system detects low batteries in a roller.
Without any doubt this is a great system, and I am looking forward to using it in our incoming projects.
Thanks to Ian Claxton and Mike Dalton – Qmotion UK and to the Vantage team.
